He acted as the Dean of the faculty of Arts & Commerce and Officiating Dean of faculty of Education at University of Kalyani, West Bengal from the year 2013-16. His areas of specialization are Political thought, Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Ethnic Movements and Diaspora Studies and Indian freedom Movement.
He was recipient of Fulbright-Nehru Award for the Fulbright Nehru International Education Administrator’s seminar in 2015.
